Chueca Diversa is attending the most important LGBT business and tourism conference in Spanish-speaking countries, GNetwork 360
In a benchmark event within the business and travel world, GNetwork 360, the most important Spanish-speaking Global LGBT Business and Tourism Conference, held its 17th edition in Madrid on November 14 and 15.
This conference, recognized as the most important of its kind, brought together more than 250 professionals and business leaders from more than 10 activist and entrepreneurial countries to discuss and promote inclusive business practices and welcoming tourism destinations.
As part of the program and in collaboration with Chueca Diversathe international speakers at the conference, from countries such as Belgium, Italy, Argentina and the United States, had the opportunity to explore the neighborhood of Chueca on a specially designed route that highlighted the cultural, historical and commercial richness of the neighborhood.
During the visit, the congress participants visited traditional neighborhood stores such as “El Horno de San Onofre”, and also strolled through the most iconic squares of the neighborhood, Plaza de Chueca and Pedro Zerolo. They also stopped at the San Antón market, the commercial epicenter of the neighborhood. There, they were able to enjoy José Perea, a spectacle that they could not miss.
To end the route, “Vides”, one of the most relevant and well-known wine bars in Madrid, was waiting for them ready for a good toast, undoubtedly the finishing touch to a whole afternoon of discoveries in the neighborhood of diversity.
Another highlight of the conference came with the panel on entrepreneurship by Carolina Valencia, founder of Cement Design, and David Diaz, CEO of La Cachapera, both recognized and respected businesses in the neighborhood of Chueca.
During their remarks, they shared their experiences and perspectives on entrepreneurship in the context of diversity. This panel not only highlighted individual successes, but also inspired future entrepreneurs to follow their passions and contribute to the economic growth of the neighborhood and the LGBT community as a whole.
Chueca Diversa also wanted to show the potential of trade in our neighborhood through Blanca García Henche, Director of the Extraordinary Chair of Commerce UAH-Madrid City Council.
The congress participants were able to learn the results of the commercial study carried out in Chueca, revealing valuable data on the economic impact generated by the neighborhood’s commerce. During his explanation, we learned that more than half of Chueca’s commerce has online sales spaces and that all of them are committed to digitization with a presence in at least one social network. Undoubtedly very positive results that position Chueca as a commercial reference neighborhood in the city.
Chueca Diversa continues to make our neighborhood more visible, encouraging commercial development initiatives and collaborating in congresses such as GNetwork 360 thanks to the support of the Madrid City Council‘s Economy and Finance Department.
Let’s continue to recognize Chueca as the neighborhood of diversity as a worldwide reference.
