This market, located in the neighborhood of Chueca, is a reference in food and gastronomy for neighbors and tourists who pass through it. After undergoing a complete refurbishment, the place where the new building stands today, designed by the architectural firm Nieto y Sobejano, was once the site of what was considered the first supermarket in Spain.
It has the traditional food stalls and other services, several restaurants, a space for children’s entertainment and, on its rooftop, it has a restaurant – terrace where you can enjoy healthy cuisine and a garden in the heart of the city, the Azotea Forus Barceló. In addition, the top floors of the market house the Barceló Municipal Sports Center, a complete gymnasium of 4,000 square meters dedicated to sports practice.
The market allows online shopping through the website www.mercado47.com, as well as telephone shopping and some of its stalls have home delivery.
